Pick-a-Wish USA

About Our Launch

here ye, here ye

Hello, and welcome to the new Pick-a-Wish web site.

Today we begin Phase 1 of our site launch by opening the Community section of Pick-a-Wish.org. We are now accepting new registrations. In a few days we plan to open the new Wishing-Granting system for a test run for the Halloween season during this pandemic year. In early November we plan to switch over to our usual Pick-a-Wish Christmas season after the Halloween test run. Stay tuned for more detailed information about the Wishing-Granting system very soon.

The Community section operates similar to any social network where you have a Profile, Friends, Groups, Activity Stream, Comments, Messaging, Posting, etc. You can access the Community through the Community link on the top menu. We realize that at this early stage of site development that it will not be exactly like Facebook, but we hope it’s close enough that the learning curve is not too steep for most people experienced with Facebook. There will be a series of Tutorials posted soon with more details about using the various features of the new Pick-a-wish web site. Please allow yourself the time and patience to learn the new system and with frequent use it should become second nature.

If you have questions or problems feel free to post your questions in the appropriate Discussion Forum, accessible from the Community link under the menu along the top on desktop, or through the fly-out menus on either side of the header accessed by clicking 3-line stacks on mobile devices or desktop.

We all can expect some kinks and bumps along the way at this early stage, but with time we expect to iron out any anomalies. For instance, the Profile background images are not currently working as expected, Uploading videos is problematic, the profile and messaging system have features yet to be enabled, and there may be anomalies in the visual styles, font colors, background, etc. But all-in-all most features should be working as expected. If you encounter bugs, errors, or other problems, there is a Forum where these can be reported.

We appreciate your patience and participation as we launch and test the new Pick-a-Wish website . . .
